Jewelry Culture & Sacred Crafting provides a unique experience for some of our future's most notable jewelry artisans, aiming to ground them in the historic culture of jewelry and artisanship. It was intentionally created and structured, offering vital background information, business basics for the intentional artisan and reflective prompts which will help scholars to connect with their jewelry brand as they accelerate through the 10 weeks. We offer scholars a total of 80 hours of education, and artistic and professional development experience; and conclude with an organized jewelry showcase for their creations. Basic information learned in this program can be applied to all handcrafted cultural art whether they become makers of earthenware, clothing, natural care products, etc. By deeply understanding the cultural significance of their craft and developing a clear sense of purpose, students will position themselves for success in a future where craftsmanship is a niche market in a technology-driven society.
